Another study shows walking is good for local business

9 Jun 2009

The "Bike Lanes, On-Street Parking and Business" research by the Clean Air Partnership (Toronto, Canada) is further evidence that neighbourhoods that are good for walking are good for local business!

The final page of this report includes the pedestrian survey they used. Their survey is a very useful resource for communities and traders that are looking to work together to improve their local economy.

See our Case Study on Acland Street traders for more research showing that pedestrians are good for local business. For example, Sustrans (UK) research ‘Shoppers and how they travel', highlights the importance of catering for pedestrians and bus passengers at local shops as these customers are better for business.
